Introduction to New
Thought
New Thought began
150 years ago as a challenge to the negative
dogmas so prevalent in the churches of the day. It has shaped the
thinking of hundreds of thousands since with it's deliberately optimistic
message of love, hope and happiness. Those seeking
a deeper meaning to life have found a realization of humankind's Spiritual
nature. Those seeking to be free of fear, shame and despair have found
'know how' by which one may take charge of one's own experience.
The Message of New Thought
has always been positive, upbeat and idealistic yet
practical and very individualistic. Personal responsibility and
freedom under spiritual principle are it's cornerstones. It promotes
self knowledge and spiritual awareness as the path
to fulfillment and wholeness. Echoing the words of the masters of
the ages, New Thought teaches that we draw strength and wisdom from
God by looking within ourselves. Further empowerment comes
from the recognition that thought and belief are creative.
The 'student' of New Thought creates a new and enriched life experience
by taking on some 'new thought's. A variety of personal practices
are taught to help quicken desired life changes.
