One World & One
People - We Are One
Early this morning, Tuesday, September
11th, 2001, I was sitting in contemplation, actually, truthfully
having some difficulty deciding the theme of this article to you.
There was so much to choose from especially the blessing, thankfulness
& excitement of our purchase of our home for the Centre.
The phone rang & Heather McClean informed
me that terrorists had attacked the United States. Upon turning
on televisions' CNN I viewed the World Trade Center in New York
& the Pentagon in Washington in smoke; the scene depicted a "wartime
zone" causing havoc of unimaginable scale. The magnitude of what
happened will go down as one of the most horrendous, horrific days
in history. I was speechless. After my sobbing & tears subsided,
what was speaking to me from the depths of my soul was that if people
knew that we are all one, this could never happen. It was clearly
a demonstration of the belief that we are separate. At Sunday Celebration
in my opening remarks, I frequently remind people that all of the
Centre's activities are to heal the sense of separation.
Someone being interviewed on the newscast
said "We need to hold onto our religious principles. This was an
act of madmen yet manoeuvred with expertise; someone thought long
& hard about this."
What an example, although a negative
one of "Where attention goes, energy flows & results show." As Barbara
Marx Hubbard has said "crises precedes transformation."
Let us hold to our Spiritual principles
& practice at this critical time, so that transformation in all
levels of our expression world-wide will be a result of this extraordinary
tragedy. Let us be happy in the fact that we have a central home
in the beautiful Saanichton community in which to expand our New
Thought work to emanate throughout not only the greater Victoria
area, but our world.
Let us pray together for our world:
If or when I perceive others seeming faults, or am tempted to forget
the truth of who I am & who others are, may my perceptions be transformed,
may I remember at the intrinsic level of our beingness we are love,
expressions of God. May any walls which keep me seemingly separate
from my brothers, sisters, mySelf & God now dissolve & totally melt
away. May miracles replace war, hatred, judgement & fear in me &
in the world. Dear God, may I begin anew.
Let us pray together for our Centre:
Holy Spirit - spirit of wholeness - May our new home for the Centre
for Self Awareness be a sacred place for all who bless us with their
presence - for celebrations, programs, workshops, seminars, events,
meetings, volunteering & place of work. May all who are touched
with our work feel enriched, inspired, empowered & blessed. We give
thanks for our Centre, its Leadership; our extended community; each
one who contributed their prayers, vision, time, resources & financial
contribution toward our very own home.
Thank you God.
Namaste,
Gail Schultz
