Profound Distinctions/Recognitions

The Centre for Self Awareness is a New Thought Centre. Two important foundational pillars in our new thought philosophy are: 1) the Infinite truly is omnipresent; therefore we are immersed in God, it is our very life & we can NEVER be separate from it; 2) when we have a new thought, a new idea, concept & context about ourselves and our relationship to others and our world, we can have a new transformed life.

Our Centre is a community for spiritual awakening. We teach HEALTHY SPIRITUALITY with no guilt, blame or shame. There are very profound distinctions that we have in new thought - distinctions as in recognitions that are noticeable especially in important times in our life & throughout each year.

At our Christening services we do not come from the context that a child is born in sin & needs to be cleansed. We know the child is pure spirit in expression & our christening service is to dedicate the child to living out of the conscious realization that he/she is immersed in God, an individualization of God. We ask the co-operation of the parents & God-parents in providing an environment for soul-remembrance for the child - to remember its divine essence.

In a Marriage service I never ask "who gives this woman?" The vows I present do not include obeying. The vows in our wedding service are commitments, promises made by a couple in creating a living support unit of equal spiritual life partners.

Our Memorial services acknowledge that life is eternal & that birth & death are all transitions, changes in our life. We know heaven & hell are not locations, but states of consciousness & we don't have to die to enter them.

At Christmas time, especially at our Candlelighting service we acknowledge the Christ potential that resides within each one of us. We hold Jesus the Christ as an example not an exception.

Easter time at the Centre is about reminding us of the potential of victory & mastery over any & all challenges being presented to us either individually, personally & collectively, globally. The cross symbolizes the inner current of Divine life (vertical) & human limitation (horizontal). We are invited to cross out in consciousness any restriction, limitation, seemingly impossibility & unforgiveness. The resurrection depicts the rising from the tomb of ignorance, throwing off burial robes of limited thinking & believing & rising up in consciousness in a re-newal, awakening & commitment to BEING & living all we are meant to be.

When asked if we are Christians the answer is both yes & no. NO: we do not believe we are sinners & that we have to accept a particular saviour or go to hell if we don't. YES: Jesus the Christ is Divine as we are; the Christ potential resides within us (that we can live & express with no barriers to the love at the core that we are). Jesus never called anyone a sinner. We agree with this analogy for SIN: Self Inflicted Nonsense.

In New Thought we believe anything we can conceive (idea, desire, intend), believe (not blindly, but knowing we are dealing with metaphysical, spiritual principles); accept (know we are deserving of & willing to receive); we can achieve!

There has been much in the newspaper recently about get rich quick scams. The Centre has a commitment to teaching prosperity principles including financial intelligence. Check out our monthly calendars & bless us with your presence on Sunday & at our variety of seminars & workshops. Come Grow with US in healthy spirituality & true prosperity.

Namaste,
Gail E. Schultz
