OPPORTUNITY
TO DEMONSTRATE YOUR MASTERY
I think we all have heard the phrase
or a likeness of: "God never gives us more than we can handle"
/ "God will never put more on your plate than you can bear".
In my role as Minister & mentor to
so many people, just one of the areas I have the privilege of being
present to is people sharing the difficulties they are going through
- but I listen to these situations with a different context than
most people do.
The Higher Self of me, the aspect
of me that knows who this person really is, rather than saying "too,
bad, ain’t it awful, poor you," instead says "yes, congratulations".
I say these things knowing that they are living through an opportunity,
rather than a test, in which they will be asked to draw upon their
intrinsic power to demonstrate to themselves mastery of an aspect
of themselves in this world. They have skillfully created, attracted
for themselves, (although it may look like a problem), an opportunity
that awakens the potential that can become their most powerful ally
- a gift toward the highest levels of mastery for them in the present
lifetime.
Some call the experience "the dark
night of the soul" - a time when a circumstance, a situation
or even a person represents for them their worst fear.
Gregg Braden in his book "Walking
Between the Worlds" lists three universal fears expressed as:
abandonment & separation; feeling not worthy; & surrender & trust.
In reflecting upon these I realized every challenge I have had in
this lifetime & every challenge others have come to me with have
stemmed from one of these three fears, if the enquiry went deep
enough.
Have you ever thought that you are
capable of entering your dark night of your soul only when you
have accumulated all the emotional tools necessary to see you through
your experience, to breakthrough to a higher level of consciousness
intact & with grace? It does not matter what area in life the experience
is presenting itself - relationship, career, finances, health; physical,
mental or emotional - realize it is all spiritual & all part of
your evolution, unfoldment of consciousness.
A person who for instance fears being
alone may become a master at creating relationships that could never
work in lifetimes. In a breakup, this person might perceive the
relationship as having failed, but the reality is that the relationship
has successfully allowed him to see himself in his worst fear. Most
of us will have an opportunity to experience what for us is the
loss of what we have a charge on not losing - we will get to know
ourselves in the absence of those things to dissipate that charge.
To observe, know & love ourselves in our greatest darkness is our
opportunity to heal that part of ourselves that we least choose
to experience. This is operating at a high level of mastery that
the opportunity has provided for us. God truly never does give
us more than we can handle.
Namaste,
